Birch
Moon Herbals is an off-grid, solar powered home & business.
Our farm sits at the top of a hill overlooking the beautiful
Quabbin wilderness. Next to the house is a grove of Birch trees,
behind which the huge, orange full moon rises. Our 14-acres
include fields, forest & wetlands. There are herb &
flower gardens, and spots left for the wild plants that grow
naturally on this land.
We
try to keep our products simple, making sure each ingredient
has a purpose. Herbs are wildcrafted, grown and harvested responsibly.
We do not use any pesticides or herbicides - our standards are
the highest. We want the magic & essence of the plants going
into our products because this will nourish, strengthen and
heal all aspects of ourselves.
Our
goal is to provide very high quality natural bodycare products
and teas to help you take a part in your own and your family’s
health and well being. While this is my first catalog year,
we have been making and using these products for our kids, friends
and family for about 9 years now.
Birch
Moon Herbals has a 'still' now for distilling hydrosols (the
'flower water' at the bottom of the essential oils). We retain
the essential oils in my hydrosols for optimum healing. You
will find these in many of our products.
Birch
Moon Herbals hosts classes on occasion, inviting respected herbal
practitioners to share their knowledge. Please check back often
for more information.
If
you have special order products such as custom fragrance, creams,
tea blends, or even labels let us know, and we will create them
when possible. Some people have requested particular names on
their labels, such as “Mermaid Face cream” or “Sarah’s
lip balm” (great for gifts!). This is usually not a problem
since we make products in small batches for freshness and quality.
A
lot of good energy and love goes into all our products. Our
creams are literally blended with the help of the sun, from
our solar-electric system. We're having so much fun, always
learning - about herbs, ingredients, and most importantly about
ourselves. Making these products supports us on our journey
and hopefully will help you on yours! Your feedback can only
improve our products so we look forward to hearing from you!
